I'm fond of reading in this technique, and since I haven't written any sort of update in months, figured it would do to do so.

+ Listening to a series of tracks to go onto Luke's Favorites v.IV; this one, called "Ghostwriter" may end up going into a future CD for cruising music

-- Made a 49.5 on last Genetics test. That class is a bitch. I thought I was good at science.

+ DOE deer hunt on the first weekend of December means that not only will I be shooting at things in the woods, but I'll be shooting at things in the woods RIGHT BEHIND YOUR HOUSE.
+ With a crossbow. Sometimes.

+ Speaking of ritual murder, I'm planning on buying a "mess" (hah, hah) of buckskins and brains to start my own small tanning venture. Any takers?

-/+ I have/get to write a term paper on the Chinese conception of Heaven starting about half a millennium BCE. I vote this as cool, but unfortunately the first draft is due the Wednesday after getting back from Thanksgiving. Yeah, this is still plenty of time, but dang it, I hate obligation.

++ I fed ducks in the rain yesterday.

-- Can't go to the pre-Thanksgiving Extravaganza.

+Will still be eating Granny's Thanksgiving extravagance of a meal.

++ The semester is almost over. I only have three finals, as that term paper on Heaven is counted as the final grade for my philosophy class.

+ It's November! What's not to like?

Being the first of the survivors to again wash up on the shores of Tennessee, Jill and I are in a unique position to begin the story of what happened, the dark discoveries we made, in the pall that falls ever over South Carolina.

I'll start the ball rolling with my own revision of the state motto, from "South Carolina: While I breath, I hope" to "South Carolina: The stain that won't come out."

Not only is the water temperature backwards, but on a similarly wet note, South Carolina is home to the Wateree River. Let's see if we can include this in the upcoming "Luke versus South Carolina."

Here's a little something fun for those of you who like conspiracies. Likely some of you have seen it before; don't give it away, please.

1)New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.
4) George W. Bush has 11 letters.
5) The two twin towers make an "11"

This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting:

1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.

Sheer coincidence? Read on and make up your own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. >2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:

"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."

That verse is number 9:11 of the Quran.

Still uncovinced about all of this? Try this and see how you feel afterwards:

1. Open Microsoft Word.
2. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
3. Highlight the Q33 NY.
4. Change the font size to 48.
5. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS 1

With everyone talking about their summer jobs, I thought I'd join in on the fun - Friday I went to see a house to which may labor skills had been mentioned by Jill's dad, and, well, lemme tell you of the things I will be caring for.

- A shed that needs repainting
- A fence to be repaired/rebuilt
- Shack encircling a propane tank
- Emotional well-being of two dogs, one of which is the friendliest I have ever met (ask me to show you the face it made when I rubbed its belly)
- Various gardens
- Two ponies
- One horse
- Three peacocks
- Two llamas, one of which is pregnant

I'm just happy to have a job where I can work, outside, on my own - though it will likely be needing a complementary employment. It does, however, pay very well, and the two folks who own the place have intimated that I would likewise be able to help them care for their property up in Morgan county that's fallen into disrepair.

Still, it's a farm. I like this.

Normally I wouldn't post something quite so seemingly trivial, but interestingly enough, a number of people before this moment of discovery have asked me as to the truth or falsehood of this question.

"You have lots of gray in your hair. Is there any in your beard?"

Yes. Right on my chin.

Often I follow closely in my father's footsteps, but never quite like this.

So the question I pose to anyone who cares to think about it, How might I use this for fun and profit?

Or, for those of you more accustomed to a different format of the question:

1. Grow beard
2. Find white hair
3. ????????
4. Profit!

The ???????? is for you to decide.

Altogether, for those of you planning to attend, the showing of 300 is at 11h59 at the Pinnacle.

I, personally, will be leaving the college at about 10h30 in order to get there before there's a chance of the tickets being sold out; I'm not sure about my fellows over here, but if there's too much time left over between then and the film itself, I'll probably go dine in hell over at Steak 'n Shake.

Some of us over here at MC are making plans to see 300, at the first showing Thursday night (hopefully at the Pinnacle). I thought I'd extend the invitation out to the Oak Ridge gang to see who'd like to attend as well.

Anybody interested?
